Ralph Buschow
B.ES(Manitoba) AADip RIBA (Director)
Born in 1963, Ralph came to the UK in 1986. He studied at the University
of Manitoba, Canada (1983-86) before completing his education at the
Architectural Association, London (1986-1991). Ralph currently holds
the chair of the Canada UK Architects Group on behalf of the British
Association for Canadian Studies. Ralph has taught at the AA, Portsmouth
and De Montfort Universities and the London Business School.
Gavin Hale-Brown
BA(Hons) BArch(Hons) RIBA (Director)
Born in 1966, Gavin trained at Liverpool University. After qualifying
he worked in Japan for Kinemura Associates in Western Honshu. On returning
to England he worked for a short time with Alan Power architects before
joining Buschow Henley. Gavin taught at Yonago University and current
runs seminars at University College London. In 2005 Gavin was exhibited
in the 40Under40 UK Architects exhibition at the V&A.
Simon Henley
BA(Hons) BArch RIBA (Director)
Born in 1967, he studied at the University of Liverpool (1986-1992)
where he was awarded the Reilly Medal in 1992, and at the University
of Oregon, USA (1990-1991). Simon is a member of the NHS Design Review
Panel, the CABE School Design Review Panel, the CABE Enabling Panel
and the British Council for School Environments research group. He
combines practice with teaching, writing and research, and is the
author of a recently published book on multi-storey car parks by Thames
& Hudson in 2007. Simon has taught at the Bartlett, Kingston, Liverpool
and Nottingham universities. In 2002 he was shortlisted for Corus
'Young Architect of the Year'. In 2005 Simon was exhibited in the
40Under40 UK Architects exhibition at the V&A.
Ken Rorrison
BArch(Hons) DipArch RIBA RIAS (Director)
Born in 1960, he studied at Edinburgh College of Art/Heriot Watt University.
Before joining Buschow Henley as a Partner in 1996 he worked with
Frederick Gibberd & Partners, Hunt Thompson Associates, Balkrishna
Doshi (India) and Harper Mackay. Ken has taught at the University
of Central England and Nottingham. He also sits on L'Ouverture Arts
Learning Trust Board and is a member of the Hackney Sustainable Development
Group and the Hackney Design Review Panel.
Craig Linnell
BA(Hons) BArch RIBA (Associate)
Born in 1971, studied at Manchester Metropolitan University (1989-1993) and Mackintosh School of Architecture (1994-1996). Before joining Buschow Henley in 1997 Craig had worked in Glasgow, London and Hong Kong. Craig was made an associate in 2000. He was project architect for York Place and is currently project architect on the Waldron Health Centre.
Steve Lyman
(Associate)
Born in 1950, Steve studied at Leicester Polytechnic School of Architecture and the Architectural Association, where he later became a Unit Tutor. He has experienced a range of practices including Neylan & Ungless, DEGW, ECD, & Levitt Bernstein. This has involved him with a variety of client and building types - including social housing, corporate space planning, energy efficiency, and Theatre design. He has worked with Buschow Henley for nine years where his roles include project leadership and Practice Quality Management. He also has experience of Employer’s Agent responsibilities on public sector works.
